Maui Story: So what was it like? The goddess party that is?
DJ Story: Lot's of goddessess that's for sure.
Maui Story: What's a goddess?
DJ Story: A goddess is a dedicated fan that will hold the camera while you're DJing.
Maui Story: Did any real ones step up and hold the camera?
DJ Story: Yeah a real goddess is one that will step up and do anything you say.
Maui Story: Ho! Brah...say more.
DJ Story: It's not about how many goddesses you can juggle only that they are into you.
Maui Story: Our fans are curious...like what's it like being a popular DJ.
DJ Story: It's the best ever. It's also very competitive, because everyone wants to be a DJ/Producer like me. And if they can't be they can be in relationship with one personally.
Maui Story: Are you putting yourself out there?

Interview with Jai
Maui Story: It seems to be true. That sometimes you've got to wear your shoes in the house. What is orthodox and what is unorthodox in your experience since you arrived on Maui?
Jai: It is Don Qxioute. There is no orthodox or unorthox. There is a higher plan here and Maui makes that very apparent. That's anywhere though not just here.
Maui Story: You're a gulf war veteran. How long have you been out?
Jai: Almost four years. It will be four years in October.
Maui Story: Do you think you were guided to come to Maui?
Jai: Without a doubt. (a gecco laughs) I have a magic rudraksha from Maui. There is one tree growing on Haiku Road . It's on private property. I believe it's the old Baldwin Estate.
Maui Story:What's that thing around your neck. It looks like a seed. Is that it?
Jai: It is is a symbol of Shiva. Rudra can be interpreted as primordial or wild. Aksha means eyes, as in wildeyed! It is the 108th bead on my mala that I pray on.
Maui Story: You count your beads? What's up with that?
Jai: The 108th bead is the Guru bead.
Maui Story: So it's a Guru Trip you're on. Are there any real Guru's left? Have you really met one?
Jai: I have met several Gurus.
Maui Story: Okay...Let's get real. Where you ever afraid in the War? Can you see fear?
Jai: What do you mean by see fear?
Maui Story: Have you ever been really afraid of anything?
Jai: No...because everthing is in perfect divine timing and hands. "Either everything is a miracle or nothing is a miracle," Enstein said.
Maui Story: What does you name mean?
Jai: Sanskit expression meaning Yaaa! VICTORY BLISS. Or praise God.
Maui Story: What are your travel plans?
Jai: I want to get to California for the Fall so you never know. California in the Fall is a magic place! I want to check out the Shiva temple on Kauai.
Maui Story: So you pulled a tough duty coming here with you bro who's wife is expecting. You seem really service oriented. How do you keep it all together?
Jai:I call on my HigherSelf a lot and stay present and meditate a lot.
Maui Story: Meditation keeps you balanced then? Does it really work that well?
Jai: Oh yeah...it dependeds on how much you can quiet your mind and be patient. I've learned patient is valuable virtue. Get into it. You will see the divine flow.
Maui Story: Time to roll. Thank you Jai for sharing your time and for the wisdom.
Back Story
Maui Story: So we have a few more moment with Jai. What is your philosophy on women?
Jai: They should all be treated like Divine Mothers because that is who they are? I can't do that...because too many people might get upset. Besides I'm not really sure yet. lol
Maui Story: What's your favorite color?
Jai: Purple pink irridescent sunset. Magenta maybe.
Maui Story: What do you eat?
Jai: I eat a vegetarian diet. Nuts, fruits, vegies, and grains.
Maui Story: Is that easy here on Maui?
Jai: Yes! It is vary easy if you are in the right flow. It is easier and it may require more energy if you need rice and don't have a car. It's always eay to hitch hike on Maui. They are doing a service. That is a selfless act to pick someone up hitch hiking. I'm into encouraging that sort of thing. I think everyone should try hitch hiking. Relying solely on faith and grace. It is a very apparent illustration of divine grace.

Hari Nath: The violet ray is a light of the universal soul. It is one of the mechanisms of the soul. It brings everything into balance. The violet ray creates perfect harmony. The source of the violet ray is the center of the universe. In the individual the ray is coming through the higherself through any of chakras and 12 to 40 feet above the body. The violet ray is the solution to our karma.

Violet Ray and Business
Ten Years after Didjeridoo Dreamtime
Maui Story: So you make didjeridoos and flutes on Maui?
River Freedom: I've been making didjeridoos and bamboo Shakuhachi flutes as a way of creating sound healing tools on Maui for the last 10 years. I lived out in Kipahulu in a cave for a year. That cave has a history of flute makers coming and going.
Maui Story: How long did you play the Didj and flute for before you started making them. What got you interested?
River Freedom: It all started when I got to Maui in 1995. I had been dreaming about dolphins and aliens and having experienced multidimensional reality I started working with Bamboo right away. That was in Haiku down Haumana Rd. I was living with some real hippies who actually made money making bamboo drums. I needed to experience dreamtime. I felt a magical calling to share mind expanding experience with others. The didjeridoo with the right player and vibe can take you there.
Maui Story: How long did it take you to record your album Didjeridoo Dreamtime?
River Freedom: It took 40 days from the time I met Dreamseed at Miracles Bookery, now it's a crystal store called Supernatural. We met in Makawao. Dreamseed and I instantly connected. He was carrying his didj and a small backpack He was sleeping in cow pastures and eating avacado sandwiches. I was managing a retreat center called Angels Nest up Olinda Road and the owner was away so I had run of the the mansion. I just wanted to make an album so bad. Those were heady days of Shamanism on Maui. We did everything natural no psychodelics at that time. The didjeridoo was enough. We would go to house parties and blast peoples chakra's with the didjeridoo . We'd blow them away into the dreamtime. They wouldn't know what hit them. Some people would even astral travel.
DJ Story: Cool where is the River taking us now?
River Freedom: That is a mystery. We all have to find it within ourselves. One Spirit is our guide. I am a healer and I have a special life mission in mind expanding communication and the arts. We've got a Breathwork and Sound Healing workshop coming up to help people access the Akashic Records so they can discover and learn for themselves. As we realign ourselves with the Tao our collective power will predominate. First we need to care about what's going on inside of our minds and more than other peoples. We get to evolve or perish.
DJ Story: Where would you like to see yourself in the next 10 years?
River Freedom: In the moment.
DJ Story: Good point!

Tawkin' Story with DJ Story Maui
Interview with DJ Story:
Ho! Brah so when you go learn DJ?
DJ Story: It all started when I was watching DJ Skribble in my room and I walked out into the living room and my mom asked me if I wanted to take a scratchin' workshop in WareHouse 21 in Santa Fe. I was like aw fo real? I was 12 and after that I was addicted to scratch and turntables so I got a summer job to save up enough money to get my rig. It was a bird watching summer day camp.
Maui Story: So you see a lot of birds?
DJ Story: Yeah..
Maui Story: What kind music where you scatching back then?
DJ Story: Underground Hip Hop. They had all kinds of classes at Warehouse 21. Amazing selection. I played a lot of House Parties in New Mexico and in San Francisco and Berekley; and, beach local kine hippy camp Kauai. Then I came to Maui and worked with various musicians and creating our tracks. We're creating a unique sound heard nowhere else but in Haiku Maui.
Maui Story: DJ Story sits at his computer. He's got five beautiful women totally ga ga about him. Really thousands but who is counting. DJ Story's fan base is mostly women totally in love with him. I've been hanging around here to find out what makes this incredibly creative DJ work. What do you eat?
DJ Story: I eat only things of the highest vibrational integrity. Whatever it takes. I enjoy raw organic almond butter. That's why I moved to Maui, because it is slightly cheaper here.
Maui Story: What are you working on now musically?
DJ Story: We are getting the hundreds of songs we have created ready for CD. Finishing what we have set into motion is crucial. I currently favor Psybient, Dubstep and Electro House. I love Reggae and Dub because I was born in Jamaca . Then I came in contact with the didjeridoo and bamboo flute music because we journeyed deep into the subtle healing possibilities of sound with instruments like singing bowls and female vocals. Sometimes there are times for more aggressive dance beats. Do they want to lie on the floor and receive a Didj healing or do they want to jump up and down and groove? You have to read the crowd.
Maui Story: How has moving to Maui influenced your music?
DJ Story: I got deep into Dub then started listen to Kirtan chants and Dubstep and Electro House. I've be going to the kirtan at the Temple of Peace in Haiku and then out to Full Moon Raves out in Kaupo for the full wild and heavy bass lines. I just got back from 18 mile hike through the crater for three days at 10,000 with 40 other people. Top Secret Event for sure. It didn't really happen or did it? I went way deeper into Psy Dub and Indian Chants and trancey colorriffic soundscapes.
Maui Story: What role if any have spiritual experiences and medicine jouney's played in your music?
DJ Story: It's brought me to the realization that there is more to reality than it appears and that the imagination is ulimited. The sound takes on the form. The right sound can induce altered states of perception. It is the medicine.
Maui Story: What do you feel about the role of sound in creating reality?
DJ Story: An experiment with sand on plates created more intricate sacred geometry patterns as the frequency rises demonstrating sounds role in shaping reality. Thoughts are in an inaudible frequency range and it definelty sends out sound waves attracting like manifesations.

Life has a rhythm; there's already momentum. The world has needs and expectations as do you, creating some likelihoods that are vastly more predictable and smaller in number (though still infinite) than others. And for those who see this and work within these "likelihoods," dancing to their own beat within life's greater rhythm, heaven shall appear at their feet and abundance shall come as easily as breathing.

Bamboo Flutemaker
Lynx sits at his workbench. He tunes his bamboo shakahachi flute. He's a flute maker, one of several on Maui. It's February 3, 2008. The wind sounds like waves in the ficus trees and java plumb. The rooster tries to come in, but Lynx shoos him out. "Hate to bust you bubble guy", says Lynx as he dials up Donovan on his gifted ipod. The rooster comes back. Lynx chases him out. It takes off running like Fog Hornleghorn. Luna, says the rooster has issues. Young adolenscent stuff. We roll American Spirit pouch tobbacco.
Lynx meticulusly measures with his hands intuiting where the holes could go.
Maui Story: When did you start making flutes?
Lynx: June 2002 I started making flutes because it was the first flute I ever tried to play. I was living in the bamboo forest. It all sort of started happening at once. I choose the bamboo forest because it was protected from the rain. Living outside in Maui gives you a light foot. Bearfoot monk training was the term.
Maui Story: So you're a monk?
Lynx: Yeah..and as we tread the lava, we lose one slippa only to find one pink slippa three sizes too small.
Maui Story: That sounds kinda harsh. Why were you doing this.
Lynx: No reason, or some might say Maui just kinda swept me away.
Maui Story: Wow..that's a trip. What were the conditions like in the Bamboo forest?
Lynx:Soggy and dangerous, you think too much and you might come hobbling out with one bus toe. After that you'd be like next mission, throw your thumb out for the dryside.
Maui Story: So bamboo flutemaking can be dangerous because of the conditions.
Lynx: Unsteady footing.
Maui Story:What can you do about that?
Lynx: Silence the mind.
